KEPCO KPS builds and operates a nationwide maintenance network to prevent faults and enable the rapid recovery of the overhead transmission facilities that make up the national power grid, doing its utmost to ensure a stable supply of electricity. It provides total maintenance services across power transmission and substation facilities — including transmission-line maintenance, HVDC converter facility maintenance, and transmission-line construction, supervision, engineering, and safety condition assessment.

Overhead Transmission Line Maintenance

Equipped with advanced, technologically sophisticated equipment and a highly skilled maintenance workforce, KEPCO KPS performs regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency fault recovery on transmission lines (765 kV, 345 kV, 154 kV, and 66 kV) across the country, keeping overhead transmission lines, which are vulnerable to weather changes and the external environment, in optimal condition.

To stabilize the power system and supply high-quality electricity, KEPCO KPS undertakes transmission-line construction projects and supervision services for power facilities. It also performs safety-condition diagnostics to optimize power facilities and develops new electric-power technologies to secure the highest construction quality in the building and maintenance of transmission lines.

HVDC Converter Station Maintenance

By maintaining and servicing the HVDC converter facilities that operate on direct-current transmission to interconnect the power grids of Jeju and the mainland (Haenam), KEPCO KPS helps secure power-supply capacity and improve reliability in the Jeju region. It also plays a leading role in HVDC maintenance.
