Drawing on years of maintenance know-how and accumulated technical expertise, KEPCO KPS has operated and provided full-responsibility maintenance for a wide range of power facilities at home and abroad. Having entered some 25 countries, it continues to raise the standing of Korea as a technological powerhouse.
Overseas Power Plant Operation & Maintenance
KEPCO KPS is actively engaged in overseas projects across the world — including in India, Uruguay, Jordan, Madagascar, the Philippines, and South Africa — and has elevated Korea’s reputation as a technological leader in some 25 countries since entering global markets. Since launching its overseas business in 1982, the company won its first USD 100 million order in 2007, secured a KRW 1 trillion order for Jordan’s IPP3 power plant in 2012, and recorded cumulative overseas power-generation revenue of KRW 1.6 trillion by 2025.
With its outstanding technology and experience, KEPCO KPS has established a distinctive position in the global market, providing services that include power plant operation and maintenance as well as technical education and training. At the same time, as demand grows for the rehabilitation of aging facilities, the company is working to diversify its business model to keep pace with a rapidly changing overseas power market — through performance-improvement projects such as retrofits and through O&M in the thermal and renewable energy sectors backed by equity investment.
Overseas Nuclear Power Plant Business
KEPCO KPS continues to secure its future growth engine and lead the global maintenance market by exporting new nuclear power plants (NPP) and expanding services for those already in operation. At the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) in the UAE — Korea’s first exported nuclear plant — the company has performed commissioning maintenance since 2013, contributing to the successful commercial operation of Units 1 through 4. It also takes part in BNPP’s planned outage services, supporting the stable operation of the UAE’s nuclear units.
Building on these achievements, KEPCO KPS is actively pursuing new nuclear exports. As a member of Team Korea, it helped conclude the final contract for the Czech Republic’s new nuclear power project, and it won a landmark KRW 485 billion order — its largest-ever single contract — through the final agreement for the pressure-tube replacement and facility-upgrade works on Cernavoda Unit 1 in Romania. The company has also designated six strategic countries with operating nuclear plants and continues to pursue targeted business development there, working to deliver tangible results in the overseas nuclear maintenance business.
