- In Service Inspection (ISI)
KPS already completed reviews of Technology and OJT training qualification regarding above technology, with this technology, purchased orders of ISI and has performed Uljin plant #1, 2, Younggwang plant #3, 4, Wolsung plant #1, 2.
In a short-term prospect, it was designed for us to perform such inspection under a support from
cooperate companies and in a long-term prospect, it was designed for us to perform such inspection
independently.
- Eddy Current Testing (ECT)
KPS is scheduled to expand service areas by projecting domestic and overseas projects and participating into an nuclear power service project in the U. S. as well as by obtaining QDA ⅡA certificates through
reviewing acquired documents and overseas training ('97: 12 persons, '99: 5 persons).
- Reactor Control Rod cluster Assembly Inspection(RCCA inspection)
KPS applied experiences obtained from RCCA inspection materials reviews and analysis as well as
overseas educational training to Uljin plant #1, 2 bringing up savings of foreign currency and expansion of business areas that were performed in the form of overseas service engineering.
- Ultrasonic Eddy Current Testing (UTEC)
KPS has obtained signal collection and assessment technology, equipment operation technology through acquired documents and overseas field tranning, in addition it is scheduled to apply such technology to
sleeving part Ultrasonic inspection using a reactor head penetration inspection.
- Sludge Lancing
KPS aimed at advancement of process by localizing T-5 machine more advanced than existing
equipment, however this project was been delay due to system difference. KPS enabled sludge lancing
work a lot easier and more trustworthy at the time of preventive maintenance CICEL 4 (Foster Miller),
currently it has been reviewing such equipment development as enables sludge lancing to the upper tube support plate.
- ROSA II
KPS have completed a primary high-tech robot technology and a local assembly itself for a purpose of
ensuring a technical development capacity this second semester of '98, in addition it have applied
sleeving, plugging, Hard Rolling and Tube Pulling into a steam generator pipe using this equipment since '98. KPS holds a capacity of assembling ROSA III body and maintenance capacity as well as performed
overseas training for accumulation of facilities and equipment operation capacity.
KPS have lead to a successful performance of Uljin plant #1 sleeving and plugging, Tube Pulling,
Younggwang plant # 1, 2 Tube Hard Rolling, Kori plant #4 Tube Plugging, Tube Hard Rolling. KPS is
planning to cover business areas into CE type of a steam generator and In-Situ Test.
- Simplified Head Assembly
KPS has contracted the new STCA, Simplified Head Assembly Technology with Westinghouse in 2001.
KPS will proceed to business of SHA after overseas training in 2002. The SHA allows for the permanent
removal of the CRDM duct work and separate reactor missile shied, thereby eliminating the significant
time and dose associated with the handling of these items during the refueling outage. With the SHA, the
reactor head lift tripod remains permanently assembled to the reactor head. A simplified of the CRDM and RPI cable arrangement is also provided, whereby the cable disconnects are done at a common connector plate located away from the higher dose rate at the top of the CRDM housings.
